Most of what people share about Tokyo is, big city, busy city, many people, rush, hurry... But did you know that there are places in Tokyo (not city, metropolitan) that show a more relaxed and peaceful side of Tokyo's great hustle and bustle.
If you think floodgates are boring then this is not the place for you, yet if you like a moment of peace and quiet then the Arakawa is a great place to jump on your bike, if you have no bike then pop on your walkers and away you go.
Easy way to get to the Arakawa is exit Kita-Senju station and follow the blue line or you can go to Kosuge station over the river (next stop Tobu Skytree line/Hibiya line train) exist station and in 3 mins and you are at the river.
Allow for a good hour or two, so that you can get a chance to have a good look around. Yet even a 30-minute look around will be well worth it.
These floodgates are a long way from Kita-Senju best you be a riding your bicycle to get here. Take some water and a light snack and you will be able to return.
