In social situations, it is common practice that discussion of politics and religion are to banned.
Politics and Religion have roles in our lives, but they have no place in reviews of establishments, including government buildings and places of worship
With respect to recent events at a restaurant in Lexington, Virginia involving a US Government employee, many people have taken to Google Maps to record their political bias as an review of this restaurant.
We need more Local Guides taking action to eliminate politically-charged reviews; they have no place in Google Maps
Google Maps is not a forum for politics and religion, it is a neutral place reviews of establishments
There are 4 ways to flag a review (and my elaboration on each)
--This post contains hateful, violent, or inappropriate content
A post containing as noted "hateful, violent, or inappropriate content" will likely evoke a wretch response or something that offends in one's moral core; that "leaves a bad taste in one's mouth".
Many politically-charged reviews can be categorized by this flag, they often voice hate and violence toward the establishment
--This post contains advertising or spam
A post containing "advertising or spam" is one that is either a link or commentary on something as a marketing or redirection
It is unlikely that a politically-charged review will contain an advertisement or be spam
--Off-topic
A post that is off-topic is quite broad and can be anything that does not apply to the original idea. This flag is probably the most likely to be used as it is the easiest to make and is the most kind response to a out-of-place commentary
Political reviews are always off-topic, they do not convey any relation to the purpose of the establishment
--This post contains conflicts of interest
A post that conflicts with the original idea is like a person who works for the establishment, making a review, regardless of the perspective given (be it positive or negative)
It is also unlikely that a political review will be a conflict of interest to the establishment.
Not all reviews are politically or religiously biased and it is difficult sometimes to discern, however...
Stars-Only reviews are poor reviews
One-word reviews are poor reviews
One-liner reviews are poor reviews
