Fish, crabs and shellfish were initially sold outdoors, and in 1866 under the roof, in a raised fishing house that has two floors. The floor now sells nothing but serves as a photographic attraction. Thank you for your post. When I visit a new city I always try to find the local market in order to see the tastes of local people. 

This market looks amazing. You said it was only in 1866 under the roof so I supposed it was open even before this date.Which kind of fish would you suggest to buy here and how do you cook it?

When I`ve been in Rijeka, unfortunatelly I`ve missed this amazing market. Is there a possibility to try some dishes or they are only selling fishes?
