Ngondo is the annual rendez-vous of the sawa people of Cameroon. It is celebrated from November to December, according to a schedule fixed by the sawa traditionnal chiefs like: Mukete, Bell, Deido... It takes place in the city of Douala, precisely on the banks of the river Wouri, because the sawa are still called "people of the water", according to the administrative division of the country in four sociocultural zones including : the grassfields (people of mountains), the sawa(people of water), the fangbeti (people of the forest) and the sudanosahelians.
Two key points are on the agenda of the event : the canoe race and the dialogue with ancestors (a young sawa boy enters the river Wouri and comes back a few moments later with the message of the ancestors for us, the living. The message of this year was about peace: we must live in peace).

Hey @Bernalds73,
Thank you for introducing Ngondo to us.
It looks very interesting. The most interesting part for me is about the messages from the water. Could you, please explain how this happens in more details? What was the message last year?
