Re: My Pictures Into Maps

Hello @saliec

I had the same dilema too. But here is a simple guide to help you through as you add those beautiful pictures into Google Maps and make it a better place.

I hope you are mapping using your phone. Here is a simple tutorial I found online.

Add a photo Add a photo from a place’s page

  1. Open the Google Maps app Google Maps.
  2. Search for a place or tap it on the map.
  3. From the bottom, tap the place's name or address to see more info.
  4. Tap Add photos. You might have to scroll down to see this.
  5. Take a new photo or choose a photo from your phone's gallery.

Note: You can only add photos for points of interest, like businesses or parks, but not addresses or coordinates.

Add photos from “Your contributions”

  1. Make sure that you have the Google Photos app installed with back up & sync turned on and Location History turned on.
  2. Open the Google Maps app Google Maps.
  3. Tap the Menu Menu and then Your contributions.
  4. Under the “Contribute” tab, tap Add your photos to Maps.
    • To post a photo, tap one or more photos.
    • To edit a photo’s location, tap the place name and select a different place.
  5. Tap Post.

Note: You will see suggestions for photos to add to Google Maps. To remove a suggestion, tap X.

Add a photo using Google Photos or your Gallery app

  1. Open Google Photos or your Gallery app.
  2. Select a photo.
  3. Tap Share .
  4. Choose the Google Maps app Google Maps.
  5. Select a place. To search for another place, tap Somewhere else.
  6. Tap Post .

Note: You can only share one photo at a time.

It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
