Munich - European Meetup (plan 2020, but it is now 2023!)

 LET US MEET AGAIN!

After we have had two fantastic Meet Ups in Cracow/ Poland (2018) and Gent/ Belgien (2019), we will have now the next European Meetup and this time in Munich/ Germany.

It is a long weekend in many European Countries, so I hope a lot of Local Guides from Europe (and from all over the world) will join the Meetup.

You can register under this link:

Take care what you did the night before….

10:30 We will visit the Munich Documentation Centre for the History of National Socialism (NS Dokumentationszentrum) https://goo.gl/maps/q1odfDELjEFiUb9A7 . It is interesting, because it gives you the possibility to observe nowadays events in a different and more careful way.

17:00

Sunday 25th:

11:00 We will visit the Olympiapark https://goo.gl/maps/g8peDRqZTKT5wbiGA and for those who like, they can check what car they will order, after getting the jackpot. Means, it is a visit of the BMW World: https://goo.gl/maps/YRqM4munZm513AeJ6

Costs:

All costs for travel, accommodation, food and so on must be covered by yourself.

Munich airport is quite big, but beside this not really far away is Allgäu Airport Memmingen https://www.allgaeu-airport.de where a lot of cheap companies start, but please make sure that you do not pay your saved money for the taxi

TorM_5-1680036829682.png

For accommodation check offers in the internet and make sure you are not to far away from a tram or metro station. The communication to Munich is quite good, so it can also make sense to have a 45 minute drive with the train.

For those who will visit all historical sides who are listed here, I recommend buying a 14 days ticket for 30 €. All historical sides I have listed here are included in the price than. https://www.bsv-shop.bayern.de/index.php?cPath=29&language=en

For Saturday and Sunday, a Day Ticket (from 16 € per day) is useful or from the 01. May 2023 is available the 49 € ticket for public transport (except express train) what is very useful, when staying longer. The trip by car to Neuschwanstein is nothing more than a split of petrol costs, as I expect that we have enough cars.

As maintained in the beginning, the schedule can change.

I hope we will have a great time. I will post additional information, but please feel free to place any questions in the comments. I will update the post regularly.

Re: Munich - European Meetup (plan 2020, but it is now!)

Important!

Hello, already 29 registrations and many already did replay to my E-Mail about Telegram group.

To organize this meeting is very, very much time consuming, so information are slowly coming. I like to ensure, that there is no selection process for the event due to special pricing, as I by myself love to travel low budget. So I have following information about your budget planning:

Do NOT Order!!!!!

(Buy a 14 day ticket for the castles in Bavaria. This is really a good price for the fantastic places we will visit. Please order asap! Covers fully entrance on Sunday and Nymphenburg on Saturday as well (and Linderhof on Friday)

Please do NOT order now!!!!

35 euros for a single person
66 euros for a family or two partners

For the trip to Neuschwanstein I will go with a 7 seater bus (no charge) from Munich. When we do not find more drivers, where we maybe need to split the car rental and petrol price, there is a option to go by train. Per Person about 15 Euro there and back or your decission to take a 49 € ticket for your self for all public transport over the time. While for people with train is no possibilty to visit Linderhof (included in the 35 Euro Ticket)... Maybe we find people. For Neuschwanstein there is a additional reservation fee of 2,50. I will collect from you, as I will pay with the risk that not all appear and hope that some will help to cover this cost.

Inside the city of Munich you pay for a tourist ticket for 5 people and 3 days 41,90 €, so you can split. If you travel alone, count 3,70 € per trip. Maybe someone can pick you up by train as well. As well there is a day ticket for 17 €.

Hofbräuhaus 22.06. Reservation is done. Depending on your consumption count in about 30 € (including a beer), if you like beer for every liter about 10 € more.

BMW Museum 10 € (if you like) and TV tower 11 € (if you like)

Night consumption (beer included about 30 € per person), in the Biergarten you can buy your own food in a regular supermarket and take it there.

We will not enter a disco, but planning to have party on the river side. Not sure if Canabis will be already legalized to this time in Germany, but than the prices for some of you can change 😉

So, to make it clear. Depending of course on your consumption, but 35+15+30+30+30+10+11+12= 173 € to make sure =200€  for the 3 days with enough side seeing and beer should be a good price. Of course we are in a city where you can spend much more, but I show you discounter and all other.
