In short: "Yes".

I'm not Google - nor with Google devs too often... BUT: From the foresight of a software developer and admistrator I dare to say so anyway.

I can barely imagin how wide branched any feature in any of Googles products is and how far reaching even minor changes could be. I smell a perfect developers / adminstrators nightmare.

"But behold Mr. Snoot, there is even more to fear!"... 😉

One might also keep in mind that any account (with pictures e.G.) is involved. Now try to think of what would happen if something goes wrong here... For example photos or data gets messed up or even missing, POINTS start to decrease because of duplicated content or lost content from your old account.... Etc etc etc. I actually think, that the point droppings from time to time might be a result of Google merging stuff. I would think so because auf the way the points drop, data is visible only in some regions, the way stuff recovers and other hints and observations I made from now and then.

That is just within the Maps / Local Guides Community! Now imagin any gmail / g+ account get's involved... ^^; You do not want to be the man in the middle or in charge then. No Sire you don't! So one will think more then once about it and will want to have verrrrrrry good reasons to act (not talkng about single cases maybe...).

Not to think about expenses... In case of a failure Google would have to create tasksforces to investigate the issues, forces to calm the users, forces to...

In the end (I guess) it's much less the line of code or database query (or programm as you'd call it) that developers fear, but much more the enormous consequences and the widespread planning and integration for all related google products.

Another thought that just came to my mind: One could have uploaded a picture under the condition of google product A used by an user located in country A and now moves it's Data (maybe processed under the laws of country A) to his Google product B located in country B (with laws of country B compelling, which differ from country A). How to prevent that or get a legal base for that? *scratchscratch*

It's yet actually not even 100% (AFAIK) legal to use some (most) features of Analytics in Germany (yes I do know about the contracts between Google and customers, as I know some pretty good lawyers specialised on cases regarding internet / privacy issues).

And that might just be the tip of the iceberg.

I have filled some merge requests too myself. Lesser because of LG but more because of YT, GMB and G+.

My account is quite old (and had to withstand a lot of migrations, implementations, new products and other stuff. Might even be my very first one from alpha times. So sometimes I wish I could just merge all Brands, Profiles,... together into one or more accounts – since I lacked a lot of the progression made on most apps / features. I often get confused when uploading stuff and confronted by 3 or more profiles. I DONT like the idea, that my YT "brand" is sepperated from my Guides account and stuff – but yet can't help it. ;(

Hi ,the system closes one account and opens the other randomly ,how can I choose which account to use and delete the other ?!!!!!

I appear to have two listings. One with 280 points, one witb 475 points. From one email account. I kept wondering why my points balance was always changing and why my reviews always showed some, but not all. Can you help look into this and deactivate one or the other so I just have one?

In my mobile i am using 2 google accounts 1) my office id G Suit account 2) My personal id @Gmail.com.

 

Most of the time i use my office id, so i did may contributions with my office.

Now in next month am planning to came out of that company.

If you provide a chance to merge(migrate) my contribution data from that account to my personal account in that case,  I can contribute more images, reviews.

 

Other wise no use of my contribution value...

Hi @Navruk,

 

No, there is no way to merge contributions across across accounts.  Please manually move content that are movable over to your new account, and stop using the old account for LG activities as soon as possible.

Hi @TamaraDwyer,

 

You should choose which account to keep using for LG activities.  Then manually move contents that can be moved over to your designated account.  Then close the extra accounts as soon as possible.

 

The close an account after contents moved:

1.  Close Connect Account

- Goto My Settings under our Connect Profiles, then choose Close Account

 

2.  Exit LG Program

- goto our LG Homepage Settings, Exit Program is at the bottom

- After doing it, when you trying to contribute using the wrong account by mistake, Maps will prompt you to join the LG program.  It can be served as a reminder that you are not using the correct account.

As LG's Program Rules are not allowing us to use multiple accounts, offering extra tools related to multiple account usage is quite contradictory to me.

Could you kindly help someone transfer accumulated points in <EMAIL ADDRESS REMOVED> to <EMAIL ADDRESS REMOVED> and close <EMAIL ADDRESS REMOVED> connection.

 

Due to this problem, I missed some opportunities to report about places and earn points in the recent past since the opportunity came up through <EMAIL ADDRESS REMOVED>

 

Please also notify me the action taken for this request.
