Meet-Up Recap(Durban, first photo walk)

After attending Connect Live 2018, I got all the energy required to be a leader or to host a meet-up and this is how it was for the first time, we were 2 and it was fun while guiding together with my associate at Durban South from Fun world to Sun-coast Casino.

In future I wish that it may be made to be a bit easy to contact or communicate to all local guides who come from the same city or country so that when we are hosting a meet-up or anything related to local guide we can be able to get hold of each other as long as that person is registered or having an account here on Local Guide Connect. It is discouraging trying to locate a person from Connect on social media as they sometimes do not use the same names, I tried it and if I find them they do not respond back to me. Hopping to host another meet-up soon!!!

Thanks for sharing your recap with us! Sounds like you guys had a pleasant day. If tagging a person on Connect doesn't get you a response, you could also direct message them. Simply go to their profile, scroll down to the bottom and select the tab to send a private message.

@AlexaAC Thank you for the tip, I have been using that method to those whom I know they are from the same city or country as this only work if you know whom to tag or whom to send private message but they never responded back even today, the problem starts when you do not have names of the person to search for especially here on Connect or social media because the names being used on their Google Map profile might not be the same as what they use on social media. 

I know that we follow the rules and policy for everyone's safety and security by not sharing anyone's private information here on Connect or Google Map, why don't we make that an option for those who wish to meet others?

I will keep on trying using the same method and see if I can get a different results and hoping for better results in future. Thank you once again!

@davidhyno Yes of course, the reason for this one to be on short notice was to see what will happen and to evaluate how my local people respond to meet-ups especially those who are part of Local Guide Connect.

Now I know that I have to do more than just to create a meet-up here and expect people to follow it, I have to find them my self!
