Totally agree with you ! if you want to engage in tourism activities and be a tourist guide- in fact you need courses certificate or work in a travel Agency of your country and city - and no bet the satisfaction of ambitious icons and level in the Internet program Google Local Guide-which has only forum information.
Need of rewards and encouragements for local guides
There are almost 30M individuals actively contributing to the google maps as LGs without expecting any rewards. But in my oppinion google has to give encouragements or some small perks to these individuals for all their hardworks.
Earlier google used to give t-shirts,travel tickets etc.but now its a huge task to give these costly products to millions of people.so I suggest to give a certificate of contribution to LOCAL GUIDES those who reach level 6,7 or above. It will encourage the people and it will make them to contribute more.
In other way the certificates from GOOGLE will be very much helpfull for the student local guides like me in future while applying for jobs.please consider this as a request or as a suggestion.

Is there any hope in this matter?we will continue with our work without targeting those certificates. But if google provide a certified paper to us,it will be very much helpfull.
Since the local guide is a volunteering activity. We need at least an electronic certificate to help testify that we have done some volunteering work before to help improve our chances of getting employed.
