Incorrect Google Map details for Apple Resellers, Cape Peninsula & surrounds, Cape Town

2 of the 7 locations for Apple Resellers in the Cape Peninsula, Cape Town, give the right details, but the pin-locators are in the wrong places. (#2 & #7).

One of the pin-locators is over 500Km away from the store in George (not Cape Town !)  The other gives the location for the shop in Century City about 10 Km from the actual mall where it is located.

@Batman1956 If the map details, address, phone number, web site is correct, then you could move the POI back to the correct location by suggesting and edit.

If the map details, address, etc is wrong for the POI which is a few hundred kms away, you may choose to close that POI and say it does not exist, then create a new POI at the correct location.

It depends on how you feel about that existing wrong location whether it was originally a correct one with correct reviews and someone moved it to the wrong location, so then just move it back ; or ; if you feel that location is incorrect from the start with all wrong information and irrelevant reviews, then close it, and create a new one.
Hope this helps.

Hello @Batman1956,

To clarify, it really isn't a "feeling" that you should be using, just facts.  You stated everything except the marker location is correct.  That implies that you are saying the address is correct.  If that is the case you should move the marker to the right location.

The marker location is just one piece of data, similar to the phone number or URL it can be corrected.

What we don't change on a POI is the name or the address, as a POI represents a particular place at a particular location and thus either one changing means a new POI is required.  The ability to edit those fields is just to correct small mistakes.

**  Note: The one exception to this is that Google My Business allows owners who have claimed their business to move it so they can keep the reviews, photos, etc.  But moving a place causes all sorts of future issues, so we only move claimed places.  This is why the "Moved" option exists, if the place is claimed it will then be moved but if it isn't the old place will be closed and a new POI will be created.  The Moved option makes it so that you don't have to try and figure out which method should be used.
