There will be some backend updates on our profiles. Once that is done, then Maps will based on your existing contributions to issue the Badges according to the criterias I summaried at:
If you click on "My Contributions" in the google maps mobile app or website, it will show you what badges are there, and you click on them and it says how many items you have/need for different levels of badges. You might need need 10 new added places for expert level, and 50 new added places (plus the other requirements) for master level. Each time you fulfill the things in one level, you move up to the next.
