Want to support women-led businesses near you? Just look for the symbol. It could lead you to amazing places like Mai Thi Kim Quyen’s Reaching Out Teahouse in Hội An, Vietnam, which provides job opportunities and a support network for people living with physical limitations.

Head over to The Keyword's post to read more about the amazing women entrepreneurs the new feature aims to spotlight and to learn about Google’s Womenwill initiative, which helps create economic opportunities for women.

Thanks for sharing @kmajewski This is a great initiative by Google introducing the women led symbol on Google Maps & Search to help identify women led businesses. Another good initiative from the tech giants. It's a great feature to have. This will be good for many people to be able to identify businesses easily. I can't wait to start seeing this on Maps in my community.

I believe it might get enabled only via GMB (initially maybe) as I can't find it either in my google maps app here in Malaysia.

This is awesome! I hadn't noticed there were symbols on listings such as these, and I think the ability to allow users to know that a business is woman-led is great in terms of enlightening users more about the businesses around them.

@kmajewski Thanks for sharing this! It is most useful and supportive for women led businesses. Can we mark businesses as Women led as Local Guides? Or only claimed business owners can do it? If some instructions can be shared it would be most useful. Thanks again! 🙂

What an awesome trio of women y'all highlighted ... any one of them would be an inspiration to my four daughters!!!

Multitasking DIY type — veggie tender, beekeeper & chicken whisperer!!!
Level 6

I still don't see, why address it this way. What can I do with this information? Should I abandon a good business just because it's not women-led?

I'm not hating the idea, I just don't see the benefits it could provide.

Level 6

I don't see how it could support other women-led business.

It all appears it's just an attitude to appear... friendlier, but dividing on wrong things.

I'm open to arguments that would change my mind, I just don't see it

It isn't about most of us, it's about helping those people that want to support women-led businesses. Just like helping identify wheelchair accessible businesses isn't about most of us or close captioning movies for the deaf isn't about most of us. If you'd drive down the main street of the town I live in you'd find that almost all of the businesses are women-led. I know that because I have lived here the last nine years ... someone that's not from here that wants to support women-led businesses could choose between one pizza place or another or one coffee shop or another.

Multitasking DIY type — veggie tender, beekeeper & chicken whisperer!!!
Level 6

There is no correlation between these topics you've mentioned and a "women--led" business...

There's a difference in the entrance for people to access. There isn't necessarily difference between a man or woman leading a business.

It just does not have the same weight: wheelchair access and women led

Level 6

What if the other pizza place is as good as the women led? Or better?

I'm not saying men led means better.. but what if it is? Should I abandon all the reviews and support someone who does not deserve it?

It makes no sense
