Holi (होली) spring festival of colors is celebrated in the full moon day of Falgun of Bikram Samvat Calendar (Nepal Follow this Calendar) (पूर्णिमा) in Hilly Region and the next day in the Terai region. It’s also celebrated in other region of Indian Subcontinent. It’s also the occasion to meet others and dear ones and enjoy the relations from the busy schedule.
Holi is celebrated for the victory of good over devil & honour of Hindu God Vishnu & Prahlada (Vishnu Follower) with the arrival of spring.
According to Bhagavata Purana (Hindu Religious Book) the devil character King Hiranyakashipu was killed by avatar of Lord Vishnu by placing him on his lap at a doorstep & his sister Holika (Prahlada Evil Aunt) was burned alive when her plan of burning Prahlada (Son of Hiranyakashipu) fails.
Happy Holi. Let’s celebrate Holi with Good Intention.
