Sunday afternoon, February 3, 2019, we shifted to one of the hotels in Batu City, namely Kampung Lumbung ECO Boutique. In this eco-friendly hotel concept, awaiting its owner and chairman of the Batu City Hotels and Restaurants Association (PHRI), Dharma Bambang Setia. Here there will be a Ngobrol Penuh Inspirasi (NGOPI) activity with various communities and related agencies in Batu City.
The discussion was started by the PHRI Chairperson of Batu City, who explained the importance of making a social business plan related to the Sabers Pungli movement which had been ongoing for 67 weeks, and involved dozens of communities in Batu and Malang. The strength of this movement rests on network, continuity and concern itself. While the weakness is only in terms of funding, which is supported together in each activity. In the future, the social movement that will transition into a social entrepreneurship will no longer depend on incoming donations, but has been able to independently seek as much profit as possible for social purposes.
The second segment, the discussion was continued by the Head of the Environmental Office of Batu City, which outlined the concept of the environmental service in combating increasing waste in Batu City, by adding garbage transport trucks, providing 5 thousand garbage cans, and placing recycling collection points in each village. In addition, regulations will be issued to regulate waste reduction in tourist and school places, as well as biodiversity conservation by collaborating with relevant parties.
Next turn, The Mayor Of Batu, Dewanti Rumpoko, expresses appreciation for the hard work of volunteers and sympathizers of the Sabers who are still moving until this moment. She also said, Among Tani City Hall will start an environmentally awaraness movement that will be transmitted to all levels of society in Batu City. Thus, Batu City will be free from garbage, and more and more tourists will come to Batu City because of its beauty and cleanliness. And the government cannot work alone, but is supported by its people, including environmentalists.
Towards dusk, the event closed with prayers and photos with all participants present. It was an extraordinary event, able to discuss important issues in an informal setting and drink coffee together.
