Germany - human dignity is inviolable

Within the last days you maybe saw in the Internet or TV some information about Germany, as a tragedy has taken place in Chemnitz and is used to express fear.

Place where a 35 year old man has been killed. Google Maps accepted that I created this place:

Gedenkplatz Daniel H.
Brückenstraße, 09111 Chemnitz

The news you find for excample here:

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.cnn.com/cnn/2018/08/30/europe/germany-protests-chemnitz-intl/index....

It always do pain in my heart, when people are violent against each other. So I decided to make a stopover in Chemnitz last night to understand what happen there.

When I arrived Chemnitz the first think what did cast in my eyes, was the first sentence of our constitution: The human indignity is inviolable.  On the wall is written violable/ touchable/ vulnerable. Not INviolable!

It is not a simple sentence for me, but I deeply believe in the INVIOLABLE !

It is the first sentence of the German constitution after the Second World War (Germany started on the 01.September 1939) and has been documented 1949 and as it is written it is still valid.

Yesterday I met different groups, as the floral wreath around the place where the man has been killed a week ago attract different people with different motivations....

I talked with two boys from Syria 🇸🇾, I talked to a mother with two small children, I talked with a older woman, I talked with German teens.

What I only like to summarize:

- There are different kind of fears. There are different ways to express fear.

Fear make it much more difficult to find a solution.

All told me, that no one take care about their fear... (of course not in the direct way)

- Chemnitz is a city with many contrasts! Saxonia (the province where Chemnitz is, is worth a trip, as people are friendly and landscape is nice.)C106EB69-2D95-46AF-A7AA-84C1855C5E52.jpeg

Chemnitz market square (old and new architecture)

- Also obvious statements need to be manifested.

I don’t know what happen in the weekend in Chemnitz, but please do not generalize when discover something new, this make it to easy for populists.

The media would have us believe in simple things to generate fear to generate ratings and sales for their advertisers. Reality is much more complex. No easy answers @TorM.

@PaulPavlinovich,

yes, you are right. The reality is much more complex. In fact I don’t know what political statement was displayed with the banner on the house (voilable instead of inviolable)....

It can be used by all groups...

So, I take it like a hint to think.

I don't believe in big media.....for every important news I always try to deepen it by consulting multiple sources and sources. Here in Italy it is the same .... two parties contract the main media and therefore always give their version both on TV and in newspapers.

Hello @davidhyno,

I believe in big as well in small media in the same way I believe in the trias politica model and the power of religion institutions in a secular democracy.

They are important.

So, as I’m aware that Local Guide Connect is no platform for political statements (also this is nearly never possible in human relation), the post was the intense to display that in Germany exist different opinions, but we are in the democracy AND it is a country nice to explore!
