Fake Reviews

@BruceDM It always breaks my heart when I discover fellow Local Guides who post negative Fake Reviews. I think this example is extremely suspicious when all the reviews here are 1 star (often with no comments) and many of the of the responses saying that they have never had this local Guide as a customer. check out Cut Shop Mount Wellington and you will see an example of one of these. Can you please block this Local Guide @MarinSt because people like this are hurting our reputation. Here is an example (I haven't named and shamed)

Thank you for not sharing private information publicly. As per this post it is enough to tag a Google moderator for reporting content on map. 

@NareshDarji Reporting every review of a local guide not an easy task. It is better to report complete profile to local guide team.

The unfortunate truth is most of the times those negative reviews often fall on deaf ears.  The next hurtful thing is it is my understanding that if a business receives a negative 1 star review with no written content they will no touch it.  It won't be removed is because Google doesn't know the "mindset" of the review as there is no written content and that they cannot distinguish if it is a real or artificial review.

Hi @BlancheMc - If you would like to report a Local Guide, I can send you specific instructions via private message. Please do not share the profile or personal information of the user publicly as we respect everyone's privacy.

You will need to provide specific evidence where you feel there is an abuse of the Reviews (or Photos) feature in Google Maps.  Google is unable to verify the authenticity of reviews from either the person writing the reviews or the business complaining about the reviews as well so situations like these typically require additional rational for removal.

Reporting a Review or Photo

If you find a review or photo that you think violates Google Maps' policies, you can use the 'flag as inappropriate' icon next to the contribution or “Report a Problem” if you are using Google Maps on desktop. A team of specialists will check if it violates any policies and take any appropriate action. The review sometimes takes time as the team is careful to only remove content that violates specific policies.

I agree with this, but local guides should please be objective and likewise not partial about review and editing.
