The Bay Area has lots of wonderful things. If you can't make it to New York, I definitely recommend going to a Broadway show that's coming through San Fransisco. Also the symphony, Ferry Building (our answer to Chelsea Market), Union Square, andGolden Gate Park.
San Jose, the tech museum and Intel museum is interesting and fun.
North of the Golden Gate Bridge, Sausalito and check out the house boats. Further north west, Point Reyes for camping (reservations required).
Keeping going north we have Mendoci, Avenue of Giants which you have stops along the way go it one time cabin, and drive through tree.
Go east you Oakland, there's great food, theaters for concerts at The Fox and Paramont.
Keeping going there's Berkeley with a awesome for scene, independent theaters.
So nice post. All those photos are beautiful. Age-old trees, Pier 39, local produce and of course the Golden gate bridge... everything is super attractive. Thanks for this information.
