For many of us, when we think of the new year, we always automatically refer to the Roman Calendar starting on January 1. We may not be fully aware that there are however so many diverse calendar systems based on different countries, ethnic groups and cultures.
This weekend, so many groups of our Local Guides friends and families will be celebrating their local religious and cultural new year, which time coincides with the end of the Spring Equinox, some of these celebrations are based of the Hindu/Buddhist solar calendar cycle.
The below is a summary list of New Year celebrations this weekend (it is not exhausive and if I missed some, or made some erors, please let me know and I will update it)
Do join us all together to wish everyone who is taking part and celebrating this weekend a most happy and blessed New Year. (I can only tag a few people in this post), please continue tagging anyone who celebrates.
