Google, what is going on ?

Hello,

@MariaBi  This message is sent to the Google Moderators team.

I don't understand the usefulness of the category "French" that you proposed.

The category isn't moderate, one of the moderators know how to speak french? If so, who's it?

Our posts aren't pined, many topics, already resolved, aren't marked 'resolved' ... Because of this, subjects, which date from several months, still receive answers and are seen again in the actual activity...

Local Guides, such as @Lémanique, do long searches and postpone many cases of spam without even his investigation being taken into account.

We're motivated but we lose time and energy because none of our messages are taken into account by a moderator.

Some of us try to improve the "French" category better but we haven't supports...

What's going on ?

Re: Google, what is going on ?

Hi everyone @Lémanique @Anonymous @Tchoa and @razakam. Thanks for taking the time to share feedback. I do think @MariaBi has done a great job of explaining how Connect is intended to work for everyone, how community moderators interact in Connect (that includes Google employees known as Google Moderators) and Local Guides (known as Connect Moderators) and how spam reporting works.

We launched this French board with Connect despite having a dedicated community moderator given how we know Local Guides prefer to interact in their native language and how involved French Local Guides were in our previous online community. We can, however, do a better job of communicating important information at this language level and now that more Local Guides are on Connect with a French language preference. That information, in French, is in the process of being updated and shared soon and we think you will find it helpful.

Please do feel free to share additional information you would like to see and we're happy to continue to use your feedback to improve your experience in Connect and within Local Guides. Thank you.

(I do hope Google Translate has worked well in this instance!)

Note: Due to the volume of private messages Googlers receive, I do not read or respond to private messages. Please post publicly so others may benefit from your discussion. If you require urgent assistance, please tag a Google Moderator. Thank you!.

Re: Google, what is going on ?

Hi @Anonymous,

Let me explain to you a bit better the nature of the forum.

Primarily Connect is a place to discuss and exchange with other Google Maps users who have joined the program of Local Guides - meaning people from around the world who want to help others find out about new places. But with all this, sometimes you’ll find yourselves in need of someone from Google, from the Local Guides team, to help you with some feedback, with some issue that you may have or with something else. Please keep in mind that, even though we do regularly moderate Connect (including the language board) , it takes us time to go through all the post where you've tagged us.

The language boards were created for users to exchange in their own languages - so it may/may not have a Connect moderator/Googler speaking that particular language. We have Google Translate in place, which is enabled across all of Connect to encourage conversations across borders and we encourage everyone to take advantage of this feature to connect with others. We know no translation tool is perfect, but it does help us to talk with one another around the world and also with you in this very moment.

As per the spam reports, we all have the same passion of sharing our world with others and improving Maps for everyone. Each user's support and help is important to us. Please remember that content review sometimes takes time as the team is careful to only remove content that violates policy. And you might already know that we'll never be able to share the specialists' decision as we respect everyone's privacy.

Hope it helps.

Many thanks!

Re: Google, what is going on ?

Thank you for your reply.

@MariaBi  In our category, it is currently the disorder ...

None of us knows how spam reports work ... You say you're reacting according to deadlines, but do you know that currently, almost no message about spam problems does mention you? No one knows you need to be labeled. I did not even know before you answered.

Who's likely to moderate the "French" category? Some moderators? Do you have a list of moderators who will allow us to tag you?

Can you put a memo so that all french members know the procedure ?

Thank's

Re: Google, what is going on ?

@MariaBithis is what I sent in reply from a private message addressed to me

"It's a pity because it takes into account and then answers in a general way. It's off-topic limit actually ...

I think she gets directions from Google, there isn't really to search.

After I confess that I've been there for 4-5 days and I'm tired as I've never been ... The forum is very badly managed until now and it's a shame to see the implications of some.

It demotivated me

Re: Google, what is going on ?

Hi @Anonymous

The article I have directed you to is called "Tip: How do I search the Connect Community" . It gives advice how to search inside the forum as other users may have asked your question (and received an answer) already.

Many thanks.

@MariaBi

Bonjour,

Tout d'abord il est dommage que nous ne pouvions pas vous contacter en message privé et d'exposer publiquement notre désarroi.

Permettez-moi une question pour reprendre votre réponse souvent utilisée : je cite : To understand who are the Google Moderators, including the rules about when and why tagging us, please check this post here: https://goo.gl/8kKcCB

Par exemple : pourquoi n'êtes-vous pas dans ce post de présentation?

Re: Google, what is going on ?

@MariaBi  That Google calls me when the problems cited will be settled 😧 ... I'm exhausted. Almost all of my answers have required lengthy research without the support of the moderators.

La section française est très mal suivie, voir même, pas du tout suivie pour ceux qui ne parle pas anglais.
