Hello world!

Name: Dario

Who I am: I study Mathematics and I will graduate in the next few months.

Location: Turin (Italy)

What do I love about being a Local Guide: Writing a review helps me to be aware of my impressions: in other words, to formulate an opinion and to express it. But nevertheless, my opinion could help other people so I must not only think about me. On the other hand, reading what other people think gives me a more complete set of points of view which expands my horizons.

I love to share: My opinion and historical notices about every place where I have been (shops, restaurants, monuments, etcetera), I also enjoy sharing photos, especially of something that has never been photographed before. Finally, I have tried to do my best to check the suggested facts, post accurate edits and correct mistakes.

About Connect: I am not very attracted by social media platforms, but I love to put contributions on Maps and to stay with people.

Fun Fact About Me: I am a Potterhead and you might see me dressed in the Hogwarts uniform, walking as if nothing strange happens.

Re: Introduce Yourself — April 2018

Hello Everyone.IMG_20170723_114542210_BURST000_COVER_TOP.jpg

 Name: Syed Zeeshan

Location: Ongole, Andhra Pradesh, India.

I'm studying BSC IT now.

How I became Local Guide:

I guess at end of 2015 or starting of 2016, on some fine day, I was waiting for courier guy to deliver my order. And also, I had to go to another city and its getting late because courier guy is not yet came. So, I decided to call my friends and know about the location of courier so that I can pickup it my self. One of my friends gave me estimated location and I went there. But, sadly I couldn't find it.

That's the moment when I opened Google Maps to find the place. But unfortunately that courier place is not added at all.

I felt helpless. So, I left city without taking my shipment. Then I started thinking "why courier place is not added in Maps?".

Later, I got a call from courier and I requested him to keep it in office for one day. He accepted. Next day, courier guy came to my house and delivered the package.

Then I asked him where is the courier office located. He gave me exact location. Then I thought "is it possible for me to add this place in Maps?". I searched in Google for that and I found this Local Guide project. Then I started to add places, editing informations.

Soon it became more interesting with points, levels, views and benefits.

So this is how I became a local guide.

What's the important contribution for me:

Ofcourse, adding places is my first priority. Because, without places being in Maps, it is completely useless to use Maps and remaining contributotions are also not possible.

So, I mostly like to add places then, editing info so that people believe Maps much more.

The next contribution comes in my mind is adding photos by using my Moto G5 plus.

What I miss: Map Maker.

Yes, I miss Map maker a lot. I used to draw raods of my city. It used to get approved instantly. Now I can't draw it anymore. But, it's fine that we still have a way, it is reporting missing road.

I usually won't much explore cities. That's why I couldn't contribute faster. But, I make sure what ever contributions I made are 100% true.

How I interact with local Local Guides:

Till now I managed to introduce Local Guides to approximately 15 members. But, only 4 members have joined and contributing now also. They are my older brother, 2 friends and Uncle's son.

And, in next month (i.e., May 2018) I'm going to host my first meet-up. Not just my first meet-up but also first in my city.

My other experiences and education:

I completed Diploma in Automobile Engineering and now studying BSC IT. You may think it's an odd selection but, during the time I was studying DAE, I understood that I'm getting more into technology. I have great self experience with hardware and software of gadgets like PC, Android Mobiles.

My family members, relatives and friends always asks me for tech related help.

I'm also an admin in a FB group of my phone having 26k members. I always like to help people relating to tech. So, I'm also an active member in Moto forums.

Recently, I have completed the Udacity Google India Challenge Scholarship: Android basics course and also Multi screen course.

Ufff, Its a long story. Let me end here.

Thanks a lot Google Local Guide community for this outstanding idea of LG to help people especially in big cities.
