When will Egypt map edit will be enabled?

Hello,

We are facing a big problem in Egypt is that Map edits are not working from the time Map Maker is closed and it is not yet enabled.

This is making the maps getting more and more outdated and affecting major services depriving like navigating accuracy or ride hailing and it is make our confidence in Google maps fade by time after it gained a lot of popularity recently due to the integration of traffic updates in it.

Can anyone from Google tell us a concrete date when the editing will be enabled for Egypt again so that to start helping our community depend on reliable maps?

I want to learn more about the situation.

Can you:

1.  Edit Places via Maps for: (Please try both Mobile Maps and Desktop Maps)

- Name

- Address

- Position of Place Marker

- Category

- Business Hours

2.  Can you add missing places?

3.  Can you report Road issues?

- Wrong Name?

- Missing road?

- Drawn incorrectly?

- One-way/two-way wrong?

- Private?

- Closed?

We can edit & add new places, but we can't edit any roads/segments through Google Maps since the migration from Map Maker!

Hi @melege this is not an issue, this is the same all over the world.

You should send feedback to make road edits/add.

Please, follow this guide to report missing roads

 Key editing features currently available in Google Maps include:

• Add a place

• Edit info about a place

• Share more details about a place

• Moderate edits

• View the status of your edits

• Edit road segments

if you want to add a new road in google maps.

here is the steps : 

1 : Open Google Maps in Web Browser.

2 : Click Menu.

3 : Send feedback.

4 : Report Missing Road.

5 : Select the Missing Road Area and Enter Road Name.

6 : Click Submit.

Not every Maps functions are available in every region.

Please use the generic  Send Feedback in Maps to report data accuracy issues in situations like this.

I completely support your argument, millions of people use google maps in Egypt daily yet the map is around 2-3 years behind.All the recent new bridges, tunnels, roads or simply road changes aren’t on the map as well as a lot of new u-turns not to mention the roads that apear to be open on the map yet they are blocked by a new building and vice versa... it’s becoming extremely frustrating especially for people like me who rely on ride hailing apps such as uber or Careem... I wish we can start a petition to get google’s Attention, this is a region with a huge number of consumers they should seriously give it a little More care!

Dear Google,

Here in Egypt literally MILLIONS of people use google maps on daily basis. The few recent years have witnessed a massive boom in the popularity of ride hailing apps such as uber and Careem which pretty much rely on google maps to function. With that many people started navigating to new places using google maps. The local guides community in Egypt is huge which is evident when you check how up to date business information is, even in places you wouldn’t believe.

yet... the actual map’s accuracy is 70-80% at best... the map feels like it shows Egypt 2-3 years ago rather than Egypt now... countless missing U-turns, bridges, tunnels...countless blocked roads that appear to be open on the map and so on...this is especially worse in newer parts of cairo.what makes it all worse is that there is nothing we can do to improve it as users... why?? As seen on the picture I posted they don’t accept feedback for this region, even though it has millions of loyal users! Please google show Egypt some love and let us help you improve the painfully aging map! Or do it yourself, but I think it’s a huge missed opportunity if you just ignore the region the way you’ve been doing.

Road adding and POI editing feature currently not available in many countries. May be it is also not available in your country. That's why, you're facing this issue.
