Hi @SanjeevJ You can add Public toilets by using the Google Maps app on your phone. You can find instruction for the same on our Help Centre. Once the place has been approved it will automatically appear on Google Maps. Thank you for taking initiative and adding Public toilets, and make sure to select the right category.

@AradhanaB can you clarify this. Since places added to the map must have a proper name and not a descriptive name, and most toilets aren't named.
The addition of toilets was discussed on this thread https://www.localguidesconnect.com/t5/Feedback-and-Feature-Requests/Can-toilets-really-be-added-via-...
I understand there was a specific project in India with Google and toilets, but there needs to be clear guidance to Local Guides regarding naming rules - in the case of toilets and in general
Possibly @GusMoreira @Flash will want to input?

Hi @Pea All public toilets in India are maintained by either the government or a private entity and have identifiable names. To add them to Google Maps Local Guides would need to follow the same instructions as they do when they add any other place, with the correct name, location and category.

Is that the same as a proper name? For example "Toilet on Smith Street" is an identifiable name, but it's really just a description. In a similar way "Jones Avenue Bike Docking Station" is identifiable, but it's not a proper name
The position on naming seems to have become ambiguous.

Hey @Pea The names for the toilets is India are similar to Swach Public Toilet which is a proper name or it is MCD Public toilet.

Hello all,
Google Maps allow adding public toilets on the map, hence the existence of the category.
Regarding to the naming of the place, users should add a name that refers to the specific entity, one that most users would associate with that place.
As some Public Bathrooms don't necessarily have unique name, descriptors are allowed if there's evidence that is commonly used or it's generally relevant, for example "Post Office" or "Police Station"
