Strategies to reduce spam photos

Strategies to reduce spam photos, reviews - solves a lot of bad photos in Czech Republic one example - https://goo.gl/maps/2iSrnbbhSTs - cover photo is wrong here is white building, and it is a Jesuit college building next ...

I tried to solve the problem with the photo: several times I had reported It did not help.

I think it would be good

1) send e-mail the photo who reported that the problem of deals with someone ( Google or someone from the  community LocalGuides)

2)  LocalGuides lvl 5 - You might be able to delete or change the initial images of the places where they are not correct

Re: Strategies to reduce spam photos

Thanks for sharing the feedback.

If you find a review or photo that you think violates our policies, you can use the 'flag as inappropriate' icon next to the contribution. A team of specialists will then check if it violates any of our policies (https://goo.gl/dsVNTC, https://goo.gl/G87xzJ) and will take appropriate action. The review sometimes takes time as the team is careful to only remove photos that violate policy.

If you've found a specific user with activity you deem to be inappropriate, let us know here in Connect (but don't share that person's information publicly) and we'll reach out to you via private message with instructions on how to share that information with the Local Guides team to share with the specialists for review. Please note that we'll never be able to share the specialists' decision as we respect everyone's privacy.

Re: Strategies to reduce spam photos

I agree that cover photos could be much improved with community participation. But I think it shoudl be addressed in different levels. The first problem is to short-list photos that represent the place (after discarding spam, which I think is a broader problem) and not only the general soroundings or specific details. The second level is to chose an aesteticaly pleasing photo. In both the community could be involved, but I'm not sure restrictig to certain LG levels.

Re: Strategies to reduce spam photos

Traci, this does'nt work when the photos are placed on the business entry by Google algorithm....

I have a huge issue with a custoomer that is being spammed by photos from a website that lists a property (hotel) with a similar name.

And none could help me delete these photos definitevely! I've contacted MyBusiness helpdesk several times, and reported as wrong all the images, several times, then they reappear....

Here we are: i've removed this image several times

Re: Strategies to reduce spam photos

@Anonymous Please do not share the personal information (name or link of someone's profile) of a Local Guide you think is violating Google Maps' policies publicly. As I shared above: "If you've found a specific user with activity you deem to be inappropriate, let us know here in Connect (but don't share that person's information publicly) and we'll reach out to you via private message with instructions on how to share that information with the Local Guides team to share with the specialists for review.
