Hi @Prdeep, @AjitW and @RahulD
Thanks again for the detailed feedback as this will greatly help us in making Google Maps better for everyone. I have passed it on. As already confirmed by @PremPaul in this post, our relevant internal teams are aware of the issue and are actively working on it. Please, keep using the option available on the Place sheet under 'Suggest an edit' that you could use in the meanwhile to report incorrect translations.
Many thanks to all for your patience and support.

Hi @RahulD
You can click directly on "Feedback" in Maps - and then choose the "Other Feedback" option to suggest a correction.
Many thanks.

No, absolutely not, this is madness. Unless you want to report the whole world except UK, Ireland and the US.
This anti-feature is lunacy and must be removed and the changes rolled back.
It serves no purpose besides confusing everybody: both the locals and potential tourists who attempt to use the ridiculous translated names.

I tried ''suggest an edit' from gmap (from Android) but many a times I don't see the translated name in it (for POI) and wonder if there are some other option / or do I have to login from computer

For adding name in Malayalam/any other language :
- Change the primary language of your phone to the desired language
- Use the Suggest an Edit option
You'll find a new text field to enter the name
PS : Google Handwriting keyboard is useful for typing in other languages like Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi etc
