Meetup page feature image cropped when posted to Facebook

I created an image for my meetup at the recommended dimensions (1030 by 350) but when I post the link to Facebook, the image gets cropped from the left not the center so it looks bad:

I think this is because the Open Graph image linked to in the page source is the original-sized image.

Is there anything I could do to make this work better?

Or if not, it would be cool if the OG image was altered so that the meetups look as good as possible on Facebook.
