When you upload 2 identical videos to youtube with the same MD5 Hash, youtube rejects the second upload and says it was rejected because it's a duplicate. Why can't Google Maps do the same thing with photo uploads?
It's my understanding that uploading duplicate photos are not allowed in the rules, so why do they let users do it?
This would help stop spammers, and also help legitimate users who worry they uploaded the same photo twice, or uploaded the same photo twice by mistake.

This looks like a good idea! 🙂
