Better forum functionality

I enjoy engaging with the Local Guides community on this forum quite a bit, and I've noticed an improvement that could be made to make the forum more engaging and easier to navigate.

On posts with long discussion threads, it's rather difficult to keep track of the replies, especially when they span across several pages. How about a more Reddit-like replies experience, which a lot cleaner and easier to navigate?

Then users can easily see on what main post replies are being posted to very easily without having to click around.

Re: Better forum functionality

Hi @ThamaraKandabada Local Guides Connect is based on the Lithium community forum platform rather than something Google have built. I agree it can be a little hard to keep track of replies where there are many of them. Thanks for the feedback.

Re: Better forum functionality

I see. It'd be nice if at some point they build this on the same platform Google Product Forums are on.

Re: Better forum functionality

Totally agreed @ThamaraKandabada

We would like to view some graphical view of posts, particularly, if we can easily see our local community post and upcoming events. it is much easier and encourage us to use this localconnect.

The name itself means connecting local guides. Therefore, we expect more connecting options like Facebook.

Thank you for the feedback, @ThamaraKandabada!

I agree with @PaulPavlinovich, it is an interesting idea and we will take it into consideration and discussion.

Enjoy guiding!

Re: Better forum functionality

Hi @ThamaraKandabada this platform is a little more than the Product Forums, apart from being much prettier it also offers social aspects that are frowned upon in the Product Forums alongside features such as Meetups and sharing of photographs and other specialised forums that some members take part in such as the language boards and private boards for specific purposes. None of these things are supported by the Product Forums platform. This platform allows the Googlers to make adjustments and design specifically for Local Guides.
