Welcome to the new and improved Connect forum!

For months, we’ve been hard at work updating Connect to make it a more enjoyable and inclusive experience for everyone. Many of our updates are the result of direct feedback, including suggestions that Local Guides made at last year’s big event in California. So thank you! We’re so excited to finally share this redesign with you.

On the new Connect, we wanted to make it easier to discover posts you care about most. We’ve created site sections based on popular topics. Whether you’re a foodie or a photographer, you’ll find posts you’re interested in with just one click from the site menu.

If you want to read about Local Guides news and Google Maps updates first, check Announcements frequently. Here, you’ll get insider information straight from Googlers, and before official emails go out.

Local Guides come from all over the world and speak many different languages. To make Connect a more inclusive experience, the forum is now available in 33 languages. We’ve also updated our accessibility features so that Local Guides using screen readers can more easily participate on Connect. Now, even more Local Guides will be able to discover your amazing contributions and create their own.

While we’re incredibly proud of the Local Guides program, we also know there’s always room for improvement. That’s why we’ve launched the Idea Exchange, a way for you to share your feedback with us directly. Use the Idea Exchange to share your ideas for Google Maps, Connect, perks, and more. You can also vote on ideas from other Local Guides, ask them questions, and offer suggestions. Popular ideas will be reviewed by Googlers and taken into consideration.

We hope you love the new Connect as much as we do! In the comments, let us know what you think and which features you’re most excited about.

Thanks for updates and modifications.Google Map has a lot of influence in our mordren society.people or visitors should not feel discomfort and any attachments related to it.Google maps is educative and informative and purposive cover all the categories, feeling of being New .again thanks for the modifications.I can say Google maps is an axillary accessment of the new feel and look new and paves new generation a New experience.

Today I received mail from Google regarding new relaunched local guide connect connect forum.Feeling happy about it as I can connect with my fellow Local guides and share my views ,photos ,travel experiance and how useful Google maps is while moving around the earth and meeting vast array of people , persons of various countries and of different languages and with Google translate helping in decifering foreign language and making one realise that whole world is one and we all are family and making boundries of nations irrelevant and helping each other to preserve nature and make life of every person fruitful on earth and universe.

• Know about Connect Local Guides Rules

• Contribute on Photography, Travel, Food & Drink, Local Stories, Meet-ups, How-tos, and Idea Exchange,

• Check out news and updates about Google, local perks and community campaigns you can join Announcements

• Browse frequently asked questions (FAQs) from the community and find solutions Help Desk

• About Points, Levels and badging Help Center

First you can introduce yourself in current September 2018 thread (Each month a new one is started)

If you've a question, before to contribute on Connect maybe a Local Guide already asked and received answers.

• Then think to use Search Field to check (in the top right hand corner).

• You can even use keywords according to your request (As you will type Connect will show you several suggestions linked to words you enter).

Of course as Local Guide you have full access to all forums to share and contribute.

• Always choose the good forum to post in order to get best feedbacks.

• Give a clear and complete title to your post if you want Local Guides to read it and reply!

• To be in touch with a Local Guide simply mention him/her using @+Username in your post in order to warn it -Connect will send her/him a notification- (Typing @ in your post will allow you to see all Local Guides who contributed to your post).

• Never share personal information’s on Connect (think to use private message if needed).

As Local Guide you can also create a Google+ page to start a Local Guides Community in locality you stay in or Join existing Google+ page.

Practice does make perfect and remember active involvement promotes learning: we learn by doing.

There are less badges in Connect 2.0 @Shermill829 some of them have been retired. The new set of badges is designed to recognise strong contributions and engagement rather than likes.

This awesome coming fro a small rural area in South Central Louisiana we are blessed to be rich in Cajun culture, which includes but not limited to good food, great authentic Cajun music, real old time Mardi Gras runs, beautiful bayou secenery, good fishing and hunting. We even have an alligator season which is a little on the graphic side, but dangerous. I am hoping to get sone of this on video and photos. My setback is on Mon. Sept 10 I amu set going an invasive back surgery that could if successful lay me up for a very hard year but I am praying that it will be much quicker quicker. I may even try aireal drone footage once I replace my broken one Thaks Goggle a ND all you Guides out there.
