Hi everyone! David here from the Local Guides marketing team. It was great to meet a number of you at Connect Live last October, where you may have heard me speak about our community mission.

As the Local Guides community continues to grow, it’s important to have a message that unifies, excites, and inspires everyone. So, we’ve been working on a fresh new mission statement to capture just how amazing our Local Guides community is. We’d love to know what you think of it!

If you have a few minutes, please answer this quick survey about our new mission statement before January 24.

I am exited to notice at least one among the Local Guides under this thread has come out with real opinion different from the that of the attitude of "Yes Minister".

In many of the comments it is registered that they have answered; but not what .they answered. I am sorry to notice this trend.

Questions on the Survey answered with the following comments as regards the question on Perks:

"Google can hear suggestion from the contributors as regard the offer of perks.

Compared to the time, pains & value spent by the contributors the perks are very insignificant and very incompatible to avail by the contributors who are not just idle, but get involved in various  personal & social activities.

The perks may be made optional to the contributors to choose if Google really want to honour the dedicated contributors.

When journey are made just for the purpose of getting videos, photographs for the sole purpose of Google Maps Perks may include free hotel stay or at the minimum allowed and not just the lunch. This facility may be offered to the dedicated contributors so that they can plan their travel for the cause of Google.

Another topic is the supply of identity and T-Shrt with LG Logo for the contributors who would face unpleasant situation while taking photographs and very offen they suffer being considered as criminals or suspects by the Local people or authorities. 

Time and again this issue has been raised and the idea is reported to have been merged with already raised suggestions with NO results!!!!!"

Done. Survey answered. I agree with many of the comments here. I think the purpose of the community is to help others find what they are looking for. It is very individualized based on their needs and interests. We provide different info to support the user. Our contributions are much more than just a rating. We provide details about accessibility, kid-friendly, important tips, hours, etc. Not everyone cares about them but they are super important to the readers seeking them out.
