Did you know you can earn different badges by contributing reviews, photos, videos or edits to the Map? In general, our regular badges are permanent for everyone to see on your Google Maps profile. There are five types of badges to collect, each with three tiers. You can learn more about how to earn badges here.

In addition to our regular badges, we’re excited to share that starting today you can now unlock limited-edition badges for the next two months. And, any existing badges you have already earned have been updated on your Google Maps profile page.

After earning a badge, there are two places on Google Maps where you can see them: on your contribution confirmation page, and on your profile. See below for an example of what they will look like on your app.

Since badges have three tiers, the more you contribute, the higher the badge tier you can unlock. For these limited-edition badges, the tiers are Bronze, Silver, and Gold.

Keep an eye on your Google Maps app as these badges are beginning to roll out over the next few days. Be sure to check them out soon as they will revert back to the regular badges after two months. Keep adding to Maps to earn higher-level badges!
