Along with sharing reviews and photos on Google Maps, we know that many Local Guides are also passionate about sharing Street View imagery. If you’re one of them, you might want to try Street View Studio. This new, web-based platform from Google allows you to publish 360-degree videos to Street View at scale.

To get started, all you need is a 360 video compatible camera with a built-in GPS tracker or an external GPS capture device. With Street View Studio, you can:

  • Publish 360 imagery quickly and in batches — just upload your 360 video, and the platform will automatically convert it into Street View imagery and publish it on Google Maps. (The blue line will appear within a few days. Connections between individual photos may take a little longer.)
  • Preview your GPS data before uploading.
  • Manage your contributions with features like Search, Filter, View, and Delete.
  • Track your kilometers or miles and see how many views your imagery has received on Google Maps.
  • Receive notifications to stay up to date about uploads and processing.

The platform automatically blurs faces and information, like license plates, so you don’t have to. You can also troubleshoot uploading errors following the on-screen instructions and use the helpful ‘Layers’ button to view your blue lines on the map, or plan your future contributions to places that don’t have Street View imagery yet.

Hop over to Street View Studio and follow these steps to try it yourself. To share your first impressions or report a technical issue, please use the feedback option in the top right corner of the platform screen.
