It’s happening now, and you can check out the Keyword blog to read about some of the coolest updates coming to Google Maps. It offers a sneak peek of some new features that will help you discover the best places near you. Look closely at the redesigned Explore tab, and you may spot the Google Local Guides badge!

That’s because our editorial team has been creating lists for this upcoming launch as part of our ongoing mission to showcase the power of this community. You can already find editorial lists and tips in Google Earth Voyager and across our social channels. We make these lists with help from millions of reviews shared by Local Guides like you. How? We choose fun themes and select places by considering things like star ratings, reviews, and other contributions from the community.

Use the comments here to tell us what lists you'd like to see for places in your city, and keep sharing your own great lists. Keep in mind these tips and add #LocalGuides to your list descriptions so we can find and feature them on social.

with googles advanced AI, i wish it took a little more time to review edits, using the location of the editor/creator, the details in the picture. sometimes edits are denied even before being reviewed, just seconds after submission.

But, stoked to see what the future holds...

K. 2010 from Bangaluru Karnataka India I had watched the live streaming of google i/o 2018.They're new amazing features coming soon for Google Maps. I'm eagerly looking forward to the great features that would be great addition to google maps .by these features we can manage our activities easier and we can Explore places. So guys localguides community around the world bringing these features in to google maps Google setting a platform to local guides community to make Google Maps better and better and also making localguides job much easier. I think it would be helpful to have a focus on listing more Public Toilets on Google Maps. 

This would help both locals and travellers alike.  We could also add an extra focus on toilets accessible to mobility impaired people.

@AlexVee  I am a bit disconcerted.  Am I not suposed to receive automatic email notifications of the News boards when a new blog is posted?

I keep activating "subscribe" in the News board top level and I have most Googlers bloggers as friends; I also have my profile page setup to receive notifications from Google Maps etc. And I still do not receive notifications from any of the blogs.

Can you please tell my why I keep having to subscribe and still do no receive notifications when a new blog is posted?
