Show Reviews as "Edited" When Revised

With the recent addition of hashtags and other features, I think that it would be great if reviews that we have written in the past would be observed and marked as "edited" rather than "just posted."

For example, if I edit a review I wrote from 5 months ago to make a correction or add hashtags, it will update the review as "just posted." However, I feel this is questionable because if there have been changes made to a location (style, menu, etc) I reviewed months ago and I have not been back recently, it may be confusing or misleading to those who see the review as recently being posted rather than edited.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, @SP31. We are going to need some additional information to make sure we are on the same page as you. Do you think there is a chance such feature would end up causing confusion? I'm asking this in terms of people not knowing what exactly was edited in a review? Could it be a better solution to write a new review if you see a venue's menu or style has changed?

Thanks for your feedback, @IrrPavlova - I see where you're coming from. I see this more from the perspective of someone who may be editing for grammar or to just include hashtags rather than someone wanting to write a new review based on a venue's menu or style.

For instance, I would maybe want to add a hashtag to a burger place I visited in New York - however, my last visit was actually some time last year. Therefore, if someone sees my review as recently posted (even though it was just a minor edit/addition), it may confuse them if the experience/menu has changed a bit.

Would allowing the ability to see the previous review be a possibility in the future? For instance, if you make an edit to a review, you could see the previous version of the review? I've seen it on some other sites before.

Thanks @IrrPavlova!

I received a response to one of my restaurant reviews and the manager is sending me a gift certificate to get me back in for a "re-do".

I'd love the ability to ADD a review to the same place as opposed to having to edit my initial review.

As it stands I'll just type "UPDATE:" and the new review on top of the old, but I think it would be beneficial to 'stack' the reviews.
Meaning, my new review would be the most visible but if people deep dived they would be able to see my 'string' of reviews of this same location.

There can be a limit, if need be, like 3 reviews/month or twice a year.

Hi @AFaith,

Thanks for reaching us.

Regarding the inquiry, please make sure to refrain from proceeding to leave a secondary review in favour of exchange of any benefit, as it can infringe the Local Guides rules.

I am having the idea closed, as in case there would be further that can be added, please make sure to share it as a seperate post on Idea Exchange.

@sonnyNg, I'm not interested in doing a second review in exchange of a benefit; if anything I want my first experience to NOT be forgotten if I have a satisfactory new experience...

And this goes for places that DON'T respond to your reviews. For instance, I go to this Taco Bell for breakfast multiple times a month. I don't want to update and give a good review 6 months later if that means my original issue will be deleted.
