Q&A on Google Maps Sorted Chronologically

Hello.

My name is iorikun301. I'm from Indonesia.

Is there any chance that Q&A section on Google Maps could be sorted chronologically?

Because if there was just few of questions, that's easy for us Local Guides to answer which community question(s) is still need answer.

But when there are hundreads, I think that's quite overwhelming and would a little bit hard to find which question(s) is need an immediate answer(s). Some questions could be out of dated.

Thank you.

Best regards,

iorikun301

Hundreads of questions makes it quite hard to find which question(s) is need immediate answer(s)

Great suggestion @iorikun301. Especially when you go back from the question to the info page of that POI (e.g. to copy the telephone number or visit the website) and then go back into the Q&A section, it can be quite challenging to find back the question, so sorting them chronologically would be a great help.

Hi @iorikun301,

Thanks for reaching with us.

Regarding the Q&A section in the Google Maps, for the moment, as by the way it is being sorted, questions with the most support would tend to stay at the top of the list.

It would be quite interesting to have the option to have them sorted chronologically, would have any further elaboration on such option?

Hi @sonnyNg, thx for clarifying what is the logic behind the current sorting, because e.g. for POI's with 100 questions, where 20 have 1 answer and the rest none the order looks pretty random at first sight.

As for your suggestion to have that additional sorting order available: that would indeed for me be a great way to solve the problem.

Thanks for your consideration, @sonnyNg.

I take example Mandala21 in Malang, Indonesia. It has hundreads of questions on its Q&A section.

Mandala 21 has 338 questions on its Q&A section

And its top question is a question from about 9 months ago. Already answered and no longer helpfull if someone would answer it rightnow, because the information is already out of date. Its top question is from about 9 months ago

And some of the latest questions are quite far down below. A Local Guide would need to scroll down to find out if there's any question(s) that need answer(s) immediately. And it's quite challenging. Sometimes you'll miss one or two or more latest question(s) that noone has answer it.Screenshot_2019-01-03-20-42-10-01.jpeg

Yes, it's a cinema that I take as an example. Its Q&A section is mere about movie schedule.

But imagine if the place is, for example, a hospital. Or hotels. The question(s) sometimes needs immediate answer.

In my thought, if the Q&A is sorted chronologically, we Local Guides could easily find that somebody has post a public question and could provide an answer immediately.

I think by doing this, would be helpfull for Google Maps user.

Thank you for your consideration. 🙂

@iorikun301I have not seen this idea prior to posting a similar idea here.

I'd love to have this so I can help with the questions having no answer.

@JanVanHaverJust commented and pointed me here. Thanks!

A sorting option would definitely be useful e.g. date-newest to oldest, date-oldest to newest, relevance (to a search query), unanswered questions, etc.
