Can I earn money from being a Local Guide ? - Status changed to: Voting open

Check out the new pricing structure for information that we Local Guides have contributed.

Google is making a lot of money off of the data is it possible that the perks could be better, or even that Local Guides could share in the profits? 

For example if I've uploaded 1000 photos, and they are viewed 5,000,000 times through a paid app, Google's suggestion for that kind of volume is to "Contact Sales for a volume discount" ... that indicates there is serious money changing hands. 

Why shouldn't Local Guides have a piece of that, if only a small fraction? If not, then make the perks better!

I think local guides should be rewarding for their efforts of shearing places. The rewarding could be gift card, tables, plasma TV , cash and many more to jinger people to be willing to share places in a Google map. When start this every village, cottage and towns will be in map for easy identified.
