Benifits for local guides - Status changed to: Voting open

Check out the new pricing structure for information that we Local Guides have contributed.

Google is making a lot of money off of the data is it possible that the perks could be better, or even that Local Guides could share in the profits? 

For example if I've uploaded 1000 photos, and they are viewed 5,000,000 times through a paid app, Google's suggestion for that kind of volume is to "Contact Sales for a volume discount" ... that indicates there is serious money changing hands. 

Why shouldn't Local Guides have a piece of that, if only a small fraction? If not, then make the perks better!

I have been a Local Guide for more than a year and I have never earn money. To be honest, I really don't care about earning money, I just do this for fun, being a Local Guide is a great opportunity to explore your city and help others in the process.

I want to mention that, once you achieve a certain level, Google offers a variety of Local Guide Perks on occasion. These might be a free movie ticket or early access to new apps. It's not much, but it makes you feel that much better about what you're doing as a Local Guide.

No money as others have mentioned but it is a great motivation to explore my area and get great pictures of my area and family out there and seen by many people  I really enjoy seeing how many people have read my reviews and looked at my pictures etc. I do occasionally get some nice perks like a year of New York times. I would love to see more perks from Google. Like free movie rentals, credits for the app store, YouTube premium. This would not cost Google much of anything, but I guess they really don't have to as long we are doing it for free.
