Points for Photosphere or 360 photos

As we know, for 2 dimensional image upload, 5 points are rewarded. In this we only requires just point & shoot.

But in case of 360° image, many of contributers posses smartphone these days & from smartphone atleast 42 images are continuously captured. This requires lot of skills & time to get a single perfect 360 image. This consumes approximately 8 minutes to shoot & image file being a size around 4mbs, uploading time depends upon your network speed.

As I'm in Rural Area of India, here network speed are extremely low & max upload speed doesn't increase more than 50 KBps. This also consumes lot of time. Now after all this, we just get only 5 reward points as much as we get from single 2-dimensional image. This isn't fair.

Rewarding points must be increased for 360° image as lot of work & time involved in it.

From my point of view, atleast 15 rewards points must be awarded per 360° image.

I hope this suggestion will be taken under consideration as soon as possible.

Hi @ShravanJain you can add 360 picture on map using Street View app.  

U can create 360 picture and upload it to map or take 360 picture using 360 camera and upload to map using Street View app.Google Street View app logo

Currently for adding photos and videos  on Gmaps we the local guides are getting 5 and 7 points respectively.But there is no

Hi @Sagir you have misunderstood my post. I have already added 50 +photos on street view app and I am Google trusted photographer.

I suggested googlers to give points on uploading 360 photos on maps as we get points for adding videos and giving reviews.

Hi @ShravanJain Whatever approved  (360) photosphere you add through the street view app you get 10 points for each photo, and those points will be calculated and also be reflected on your local guides contributions profile on Google Maps. The same way the points per photo is been counted when you add pictures as a local guide on Google Maps is same way the points is been calculated too when you add 360 photos through the street view app. So the answer to your question is yes, there is point for adding photospheres to Google Maps and the point given is 10 points per photosphere. Yes, the points can be differ compare to a normal pic & 360 photosphere. As they are different for videos. It will become more appealing for new comers to join in the fun 🙂

If EXIF metatata (GPS) is present photo is placed automatically, or select a listing.
