Meetups for hook-ups & date among local guides - Status changed to: Revisit later

Local Guides come from all walks of life, most of us very enthusiastic about every bit of the program, but without the luxury of constantly checking the meet-up board to see what's being hosted near us. That's why I think we should get the option of signing up for meet-up notifications in our registered Local Guide locations, that way, when a meet-up is hosted by someone within so short a period, you simply get an  email message informing you about the hosted meet-up near your location and you decide if it fits into your calendar or not.

Hi @Rakeshkumar1987, thanks for this great idea! We’ve shared it with the team and while we can’t pursue it right now, we may consider it in the future. However, keep in mind that the Loca Guides focus is more related to useful location contributions.

The Meet-Ups function seems really cool but really difficult to use considering there's no way to sort the meet-ups by location or have it suggest meet-ups that are close to you. I think it would be great to be able to sort them or have a map view of where they are, because I'm in Florida and the second meet-up I see is in Australia. Let me know what y'all think!

Thank you for sharing your idea, @Lingonberry24. We are going to need some further information to make sure we are on the same page. Do you think such a feature would motivate Loca Guides to organize more meet-ups?

I would like to filter meet ups by area.

The community is large and international but I am not.  I am interested in working with other local guides in my area only.  It seems difficult to find meetups around me.

Regarding the inquiry, please make sure to check out our Local Guides Meet-up page.

On the field where you would usually type in the city, make sure to tap on the GPS location button at the end.
