Hey all.
This is for the cool local guides connect UX community developers.
First off, I love what you've done with the site. I, and others I've introduced to the program have a problem with navigation. There's a simple zero cost work around while you work on a more 'intuitive' solution.
I'm using desktop, on Mac, using Safari. In the main menu (after log in) we have a icon driven side menu. It's not normal for desktop to request a click to pull down menu - ON TOP OF A MENU WHICH IS ALREADY SHOWING. I worked it out, but it's not normal for UX (for desktop).
We can goto the burger, click, and we get this menu. As 99.9% of websites don't have this extra feature for pressing a menu icon, above a menu for the description to show, I'd like to suggest you either add alt text (if you want to keep the navigation), or opt for a text description in the short term. At least I can scroll down and have an idea what I'm pressing.
Thanks for your consideration and time in advance with this UX request!
