Local companies promotions lists on Google Maps

I'm based in Singapore and we recently got a deal from Redbus for discounted bus tickets, specially for Local Guides. 

I understand that it's a painful process to have businesses such as Redbus set up a promotion on the platform, via LCS sales teams and a lot of tech implementation to making it happen. 

Businesses and restaurants on the other hand would have their promotions anyway, and they can only right now post it on their Google My Business app as a Post. These are hidden unless you go into their location entry. 

If there's a scalable way for businesses to all list promotions on the platform, and for users of the platform to access them, and even perhaps a promotion tier specially for LGs, that'd greatly boost user engagement and business engagement. Location based promotions can also be push-notified to users who are around the area, fed according to their search intent signals and past locations visited.

At the end of the day local businesses want people to walk into their shop and engage with them anyway, while LGs will contribute back to the ecosystem if they see value in helping local businesses thrive / improve their offerings. This will have a win-win crowdsourcing effort without Google having to always be the platform that is giving away perks to LGs. 

I can also see it tie back to GPay integration if done well, or "save this promo" and have it routed back into the user's Gmail inbox.

As a fellow Guide here in Singapore, I would find this a useful feature.  As one example, I enjoy trying new coffee shops and it would be interesting to receive a notification from purveyors as I am wandering through areas that are new to me.

Recently Google maps shows promotions that restaurants and businesses are promoting. 

What if Google Maps implemented a feature to show what is being promoted? Not just the Ads also what businesses are showcasing. 

For example, Pizza: the businesses that are using that feature, of a post, would at least get a bit airtime, especially in smaller cities, 100000 to say 300 000, where budgets are smaller and the competition is relatively friendly and healthy. 

I understand Ads in big cities like NY or Tokyo. Yes, Ads should get priority and 1st placement. However, if a business is using posts then maybe show their promotions somewhere as well.

Hi there, at the beginning please excuse my lack of technology terminology , I'll try to explain my idea as much as possible; then somebody might have got the enough experience either to make it or to correct what I'm saying into a technology understanding language.

The idea is that Google to merge a new application based on scanning via the cell phone camera, this application will be combined with the google maps; so once the user arrives to his desired destination then instead of closing the maps; another opportunity will appear to use the new application.

- This application will be doable only on the famous brands and will read the previously encrypted coded tags to show if the product is genuine or not.

- Once the product is genuine, then the price will be shown on the screen which will waive a lot of hassle to the merchant with price tags.

- Also the store or the merchant doesn't have to publish a discount because it will be shown on every single piece of the product.

- This will allow the  chains to control and centeralize the price as well as the promotions or discounts.

- Also it will allow all of them to save many of printed collaterals to promote their goods.

- On the other hand it will help Google to see where is the most selling products as well as the most discounts customers buy, and can show it on the application like traffic jam concept.

- Customers will be anxious to use technology and to be surprise them selves with promos or discount, as well as they will spend more time inside the shop or the outlet; then it's a great opportunity to the seller to promote for the store different items.

- And finally the customer will feel save of having the unified price everywhere.

Google maps should add promotion information on some places such as shopping malls and restaurant

So when we open the map we get information instantly on where we can go to eat or to be a bargain hunter
