Improve the awareness towards Meet-up site for Maps users

Let's do Christmas in TST

During the above meet-up last night, @RogerInHK raise an excellent question:

How to make Maps user more aware of the existence of the LocalGuides Meet-up site?

He has an excellent idea:

In Maps app, there should be a link/menu item, such that an external browser will be opened with the Meet-up site.

Brilliant idea!  Simple and effective!

When we share Connect and meet up site to my friends，most of them doesn't know it is related to Google map and Local Guide.

If Google map have a access link to these websites， it would be more helpful.

Thanks for the idea. If I were in that position, maybe I'll use the Event menu on Maps and make a new item about Local Guides meet-up. But I also doubt with the privacy and safety since it'll be open for all Maps user, no exceptions.

Maybe the better option is every registered Local Guides can see the nearby Local Guides meet-up in their maps or get notified by email. 

Just my opinion! 🙂

Hi @YK1001. Thanks for sharing the idea. We know that Local Guides want to learn about meet-ups around them and we're working on a solution. We are, however, unable to implement your idea at this time, so I am marking your idea as closed but as you know, we will keep all ideas in mind with future changes.
