I'd love to be able to use my photos from external sources without hitting the limit

By external sources, I meant some other photo sharing services like Google Photos or imgur. It's just not very convenient to having download the photo first, then uploading it to the Connect post.

I think it's a known fact that Connect has a hard limit of photos that can be posted. No matter how conservative we are in posting photos, sooner or later we will hit the cap.

I would love the ability to post photos directly from my Google Photos album, and not having it counted against the cap.I know Lithium is not a Google product and I don't know how complex it is to build the feature, but I thought it just makes sense since most Local Guides takes photos with their phone and use Google Photos for storage/ backup purpose.

As for Imgur, technically we can reference an imgur link to get the photo, but (to my understanding) it's basically getting the photo and having it uploaded, making it to be counted as part of the quota (please correct me if I'm wrong).

Indeed it is already possible to display a Google photo in connect as shown below, Thanks to @LucioV and @ErmesT (https://www.localguidesconnect.com/t5/Feedback-and-Feature-Requests/Google-photo-URL-do-not-work-in-...), I got the trick:

 1. Upload the photo in a public album,
 2. Get the real unique address of the photo for example in opening the photo in a new tab. Do not use any URL provided by Google Photoo other than the unique adress
 3. Insert the address of the photo

Thanks @ErmesT for your remark about the photo that was not displayed, I think I have fixed the issue and corrected the above process.

Google photo that did not work (fixed now)

Google photo that does work:

@Csaba, I cannot see the image in your post (publication time: ‎03-07-2018 07:31 AM)

@TraciC It seems to me that Google Photos integration is working but it is not user friendly and I did not try it from a mobile phone

@JeanRV, please note that we cannot see the photo, while I was able to see that in your post in the general board

I really wish that would happen...

OT:

But there it is. That arkward moment where the G-pressure tells one rather to be silent but were I can't remain quiet.

I'm almost just waiting to finally get in conflict with the filespace. Don't know how G is calculating about people like me, but I WON'T BUY or JUST STOP DELIVERING, NOR WILL I DISCUSS a lot. I'll take my content and give it the next best source to help others. I'm here to help the people in the first place - Google is just the weapon of choice. I already gave a lot to Google, while Google kept promoting spammers and low quality selfcentred "Influencers" on the other side a lot. This often feels like a harvard-made-up mind game I dont wanna play.

The very moment Google stops supporting me with space, is also the very moment Google Iooses my trust and when Google will loose me as free content deliverer.

Harsh but true. I'd like to believe Google fetches the next turn but unfortunatly I doub't that (hard). NOW would be the time, to align with the peeps. There wont be another chance after Facebook... Google should know that.

For your idea: Why would Google give away such a big pressuring tool? What would be the benefits ? Do you really believe Google lacks on space or capacities? Trust me... No. They just lack on the will to split it fairly, because it can barely be done without a lot of human work. And if IIlearned one thing about Google, than it is, that Google hates all manuel work!

Limiting all users but instead of capping low-q content or spammers, would have to be interpreted as a clean statement: "Now is the time you pay us to be even allowed to work for us and we don't care what you did for us so far!"

Or wouldn't it?

Sorry for beeing grumpy, but I can already smell the upcoming frustration and after 10 years at the side of Google, I feel a little bit too exhausted to be enthusiastical. At the end of the day, I will be the stupid one who has to collect and rearrange the content, not Google...

(Dont want to go over it, but yet no one ever cared my account problems for years, while Im busy helping frauded people on my private phone, who call me at night, because they cant get in contact to Google itself but over the "hire a trusted photograpger" form. So I might be riding a death horse anyway - doomsday feelings... Nothing to loose... 😄 Weeeheeee.)

When I create content on on computer, I must be able to navigate to Google Photos in the Content editor on the local guides.
So we can share our photos taken from our camera more easily.

Why there isn't any link between LG connect & Google photos, It's better if we can get a option to upload photos saved in Google photos.
