Halfway Meetup - Status changed to: Needs information

Hello, Local Guides!

My name is Raymond, I'm almost done studying Computer Science through school. I'm a tech enthusiast and I love using my passion of it to simplify and make things easier for people. I'm here to offer a feature that I believe if integrated into Google Maps could simplify a lot of things for people.

Utilizing the ability to share and invite (like how you can share route progress) I think that it would be cool, and functional if there was a feature where you could invite someone to meet up somewhere and there be options or filters per se for what kind of place you would like to meet.

For Example:

Being a college student I live away from home, however, it is not too far away and I have friends and family all over the state. I believe that it would be cool if I could send them an invitation and select a type of place to meet them ie, Resturant, Fastfood Place, Coffee Shop, Store, Entertainment, a Bar. Or even a specific place specified between. The possibilities are endless for a simple enough to add function.

This could also be implemented for groups with a voting system for a location which I'm sure Google has or is fully capable of making. Say there's a sports team and they wanna decide where to go after an event they could open a poll and vote for a place on the way home from the event. Google has the option to chat with businesses now, they could use this technology to make a sort of chat for group polls so things can also be discussed but separate from everything and could be deleted automatically after the event so it won't hog up screen space in the main texting app.

I feel as if this feature also targets all ages, but especially students who typically do things in groups, or away from home, they are also the demographic who would be totally comfortable and enthusiastic of a feature like this. I can say from experience that I would use this feature a lot!

I have one implemented feature Here - Adding Speed Limit to Google Maps So I know now that by liking this, sharing it,  and discussing how the feature can be implemented in the comments something like this can actually become a thing.
