"Google Maps has a new List making feature. This means a List can be associated with any place, a Marina, a Church, an Orphanage, a Senior Center, a small town etc. (Here's where the power of numbers could make this good idea into a world changing initiative. Wouldn't it be be amazing if there were many of us who were helping to populate those need Lists? Better yet, we can teach the nonprofits how to publish their own lists.) Wouldn’t it be great to know of the various volunteering opportunities in a village or what an organization or an area needs before you travel there? From providing school supplies to fishing hooks, from teaching a class to organizing a clean-up project, our actions can change a community into perpetuity."
I posted this yesterday, in a much longer format, to several FB sailing groups I'm in. The positive response was overwhelming. I have so many women wanting to assist with this initiative. (Follow me on FB or Insta if you wish to read the whole diatribe or PM me if you want to help with this initiative).
Now, I need to come up with some kind of tutorial for all the volunteers. I also need info on how the Lists function work.
Here are my questions...
Is there a You tube video about how the Local Guides program?
Do you have to be a Local Guide to make a List?
If I make a List under a nonprofit organization (which is already on the map)...
Who can see that list?
Who can edit that list?
Is there a way to broadcast those List via other social media channels
Can those Lists be consolidated, or sorted by category, like "volunteering opportunities" via region?
Lastly, would Google be willing to make a tutorial video showing people how to make lists?
(Sorry, couldn't delete photo or change its placement).
