Feature Request: Post Event Attendee List & Forum Nick Integration & Event Attendance Achievements

Situation:

  • Events have a good take up, but many and sometime every sign up done not turn up.
  • At CL2018 I had conversations with other LG meet up organizers who get 100% no show.
  • This means they get de moralized and don’t want to do more. This is a community killer. We need to change this.

  • It’s better it’s recorded so organisers get an idea of how many sign ups and events the sign ups attended after signing up and if they do a lot of successful events.
  • Some people just turn up to events and don’t sign up neither get the kudos they deserve.
  • To deter fickle sign ups, it’s recorded.
  • Equally the more events you go to, you get achievements to encourage turn ups (another feature request)

Solution

1. people who sign up, get a warning that they should tell the organizer if they do not go within 24 hours of the event - 12 min,

2. if the event gets cancelled due to no shows the organizer knows in advance.

3. After the event the organizer says who turned up.

4. Achiements of successful events recorded and given in app

Extra nice feature request

1. Event organisers get a list of the User handles for connect live forum. This means the attendees get mentioned in recaps and thanks. I ran an event and my real name vs. localguidesconnect is very difficult to guess.

Good feedback.

- Meetup event page and forum discussion page are totally disjointed - different systems, different user profiles, etc. Poor discovery too. Meetups to be under Maps or LGC? Make up your mind and have it in one place. In Maps>potentially better discovery. In LGC>more relevant userbase who are interested in learning more about LG etc, but limited users.

- Ridiculous numbers of no-show is a terrible waste of organizer time. If even dedicated super LGs are getting turned off, how are we going to encourage other newcomers to organize their own events

- Connect Live gets hundreds of participants? I don't think our meetup listing is even seen by a 100 people.

- Is having an "official" meetup listing important? Or should we just simply create Meetup posts and go with that?
