Did you mean:

Delete our post on Connect.

A feature to delete our own post on this connect Forum.

I posted an idea on connect and later when I wanted to delete it, I discovered that there's no option to delete your post once it's submitted.

Why are we unable to Cancel a post here in the Exchange?

Level 6

I can't delete my comment, only editing is allowed. Being able to delete a comment needs to be a thing.

Level 8

When you need to delete a comment, just edit snd leave a line saying "deleted".

It is a common practise among forums when delete is not an option.

Level 7

When this has been brought up in the past few weeks in other contexts it has been usually met with an official statement that the removal of the deletion option was deliberate and is designed to make the forum more useful and inclusive to everyone.

I hope your attempt to get this issue out into the open again succeeds where so many others have been let down by the canned responses and prepared statements.

The ability to correct some of our mistakes and to delete our contributions should be given  to us all and not just to those who have the privilege of being appointed.

Perhaps if the various Googlers and moderators also had their own separate Local Guides accounts for usability test purposes they could begin to understand just how illogical, inconsistent, clumsy and restrictive Connect 2.0 has become.

@saadbinsalam Can you shop this around and get votes from others who want this feature too?

Level 9

this will be great option @saadbinsalam ,

sometimes we ask about something then we found its already answered by another post , so its better to delete it rather to wait a moderator to mege the post , yeah is one benefit

According to some threads in the Help/How-to sections of this forum, it is currently not possible to delete one's posts.

If I want to leave this forum without leaving any information behind, my currently only option is to go through all of my past posts and comments, and edit all of them to be blank. If needs be, I will do that - but that would just leave all those posts in a completely useless state. It would be better to just give me the option to delete posts I started and comments I added to other threads.

It's not really a good example of empowering users to do whatever they want with their data, either. Google tries to lead by example in other products, so why not in this forum?

Hi @Anonymous,

Thanks for reaching out.

As you mentioned this option is currently not available. You could edit your own posts or you could tag a Google Moderator to delete your post if you have a reason to.

By the way, there's an idea suggested about this topic in the Idea Exchange - Delete our post on Connect. I am going to merge your post to it and you could give your vote and show your support.

Yeah, I really don't feel like asking around and hoping for someone to not ignore me when it comes to my rights regarding my data. I will just start blanking my past posts - it's not as if they are important, anyway, seeing how all that feedback has just been ignored as well...

Hello @Vandykjd,

Thank you for sharing, but similar idea had been suggested before and I am merging it - Delete our post on Connect.
