Create a new board for Members' Stories - Status changed to: Revisit later

I would like to suggest this idea, where appropriate, so we have a separate area for Members' Stories which will be meant for all posts categories suggested below.

> Posts about achievement points

> Posts about achievement levels

> Posts about contributed photos counts & views

> Post about Kudos, Likes, Badges and other achievements 

> Post for self portraits/photos (which are not about a specific location or activity)

> Self introductions of new Local Guides members

> and other posts of more personal in nature which are not related to Travel, Local Stories, Photography, Food, Meet ups or any of the other main categories

Most of the types of posts above don't really belong in the main categories. This is so that we can have the main boards with the correct specific posts for example Local Stories should be more about events, or experiences; and the same with other main boards.

Hi @StephenAbraham  i feel after Connect has evolved need for this has increased since newcommers or member acheivements has no space to be posted in and this can help , thumbs up from my side .

I tend to think like Paul, there is for this the "Local Stories" board, the points you mention are more for that type of board

Hi @StephenAbraham. Achievement posts of this nature are not currently part of Connect and do not have a place here at this time which is based on the feedback we received from many Local Guides in our older version. In the meantime, we are encouraging Local Guides to use #LocalGuides in sharing these achievements on social media with the world. I'll note this as something to revisit later so others may continue to vote and share their thoughts.

I totally agree with you @StephenAbraham   Although some suggest using the Local Stories for this purpose, I get the impression that it is preferred that we don't for fear that it messes up the intended content of the Local Stories and might be considered "Off topic". To avoid this I think having a seperate topic for Achievements is a simple solution and more preferable than using some other social media.  Regards, Koby

A Lifestyle tab in addition to the tabs about Local Stories, Food and Drink, Photography and Meet-Ups could be advantageous in encouraging Local Guides to post topics about themselves, what they like doing and why.

Topics like Personality traits could reveal something about Local Guides and gives others an insight into why they are Local Guides:

Describe yourself in 3 words.

In this instance I would write something like,

I am sporty, adventurous and competitive.

Then a photo follows to show this:

3 words to describe me: Sporty, Adventurous and Competitive

Here, others can post about their lifestyle, topics which encourage others to discuss their personalities and somewhere others can post photos of social events and explain why those celebrations matter to them.

Under the Lifestyle tab would be:

1. Posts which enable Local Guides to show what they are like in their everyday life
2. Photos of social events
3. Lifestyle questions or topics to allow others to describe themselves in say, 3 words or in 1 photo for others to guess what the Local Guide is saying about their personality

I see from the Local Guides here, that many are gregarious and outgoing with interesting photos of places they go to.

Wouldn't it be nice if we had a Lifestyle tab where we can connect as Local Guides and 'become a personality' as we get to know each other in the community.

It would be nice to see all these posts under 1 tab.

This is a good idea. When a post of mine does not fit in photography, food, travel, I post it in local stories but I am not sure that is the intention of this category.

Hi @Hadasul I often want to post something on lifestyle like 'What 3 things make you like a cafe instantly' and 'Describe yourself in 3 words'.

It gives others a better idea of a Local Guide and what makes them tick.
