Advanced Editor mode

There are many good suggestions for improvements to Google Maps here on the Idea Exchange. Many of these revolve around adding/enhancing editing features.

May I suggest that these expanded editing features be under the guise of an "advanced" editor, much like how Map Maker was, but those advanced features could be made available at various Local Guide levels - so for example direct road editing is only open to Level 5 and above, while being able to view the history of an object might not unlock until Local Guides achieve Level 8.

This kind of controlled access should serve as a Perk for those who are serious about Local Guides to increase their ranking, while keeping the less than serious from being able to do more damage to the map.

If you are looking to add or edit the name of a place though (like a business), you can do that by following the steps in the article Add a missing place to the map.

If we need to add roads to Google Maps, or something on the map isn't right, you can tell us by following the stop in the article Report an error on the map.

I just wanted to let you know that I've found a similar idea with yours and I merged them.

I would like to try to solve the problem that our little village is facing. The trustees changed the name of a road so first responders can more easily access residents accurately from Shore Rd to Harbor Lane. The algorithms don’t trust the information about the new road name so it is not being posted to maps much to the frustration of everyone living in Dering Harbor Village. Perhaps google could implement a way of trusting elected officials and giving them access to road changes. Or connecting elected officials with local guides to inform them of updates on maps locally.

الاحظ وجود عدة أماكن على الخرائط في المكان الخاطئ و اقوم بتعديلها لكن لا يتم ذلك و عند تصفحها مجدداً أجدها مازالت في المكان الخاطئ ارجو ان يتم قبول التعديلات و الاماكن الجديده في وقت أسرع حسب مستوى المرشد الذي يقوم بأضافة المكان الجديد أو التعديل لتكوين المستخدم ثقة في استخدام خرائط جوجل
