Add a standardized review template

@AdrianLunsong

That's what I want. A categorized review template. Maybe google dumped the star system because it became old-fashioned, but still having categorized review will tweak up the overall review qualities.

Instead of just pressing a star, Google can make Local Guides write as per category which would further avoid fake reviews.

I also believe that if Google standardizes reviews e.g. as a template, the idea of having different views from different people would be lost and in long term reviews will look boring.

But, adding a template (perhaps to give a bonus +1) will certainly help power/active users to contribute in a better way.

P.S. I am tempted to tag few Googlers here, So if you guys find some spare time, the Italics part needs your attention. @TraciC @brittym @JavieraAu @AngieYC @AlexaAC

Thanks for the feedback @OmerAli. Please note that I'll move your post to Idea Exchange. If in future you have any ideas how to improve Connect or Google Maps or you what an old feature to be implemented on Connect 2.0 you can submit an idea into Idea Exchange. For more information you can read the article How do I use the Idea Exchange?

Please also avoid tagging Traci, as all the moderators mentioned in the thread Meet the Google Moderators can assist you with whatever question you have.

P.S.: I've also changed the title of your idea and now you can find it under the name Add a standardized review template.

Hello, i've been a local guide for a couple years now and understand reviews are quite a big deal for many places. They rely on reviews to drive business based on customer experience. Customers/Visitors are all different and are looking for different things out of a place. Ever been on a Road Trip and hoped the next rest stop had clean bathrooms? My suggestion is to split and categorize reviews into relevant parts for restaurants, Gas stations, Parks, etc. One might look like this:

Jim's Breakfast Nook

  • Food Quality (1-5 stars)
  • Service (1-5 Stars)
  • Bathrooms (1-5 Stars)

OR

Seaside Park

  • Cleanliness (1-5 Stars)
  • Parking (1-5 Stars)
  • Bathrooms (1-5 Stars)

These systems would average out an overall rating and can go into detail.

Also, if it seems their was an issue a follow-up to if and how management or organization could resolve an issue and if they reached out for support. I see a lot of reviews that tear a place apart all due to one experience that may not have the MOD involved.
