Hi @OSAMA_1 my friend , a soldier I knew died in Afghanistan a few years ago. It was part of the unit that came with the tanks at the parade, was decorated post mortem by the President of Romania with Order of the Star of Romania.
And the Romanian soldiers are involved in different missions in different areas.

I’m glad you liked the pictures
Thanks respectfully

Había varios miles de personas. En la ceremonia del mausoleo del héroe vienen los veteranos de guerra y sus descendientes.
Muchos niños vienen al desfile militar en la ciudad, les gustan los autos del ejército y el desfile

Lovely pictures @To_paul . The military is always very important in a sovereign nation. Without the military every country is in a potential attack. Thank you.

Happy National Day

@Austinelewex In my country the Army is the most trusted institution, being followed by the Church.
Thanks so much for the message and for the greeting

That is so beautiful @To_paul that your country is very religious. Here, Nigeria is assumed to be a secular state but it is not actually what is obtainable. Thanks for the information.

@MukulR I try to be the best man with my peers, but it’s a bit hard, after the parade I go to the special fair where I eat and then buy products made by Romanian craftsmen of all ethnicities, I bought a knife and a bell from the Romani people, then the mug from a craftsman from Transylvania, the plate from a Hungarian craftsman and the crystals from a man from Maramures, and more.

Their crafts are on the verge of extinction.
The knife is made of mechanical saw blade and is handmade, it has little rust that I gave with water.

The bell is cast from bronze also by Romani people

Thank you very much

Because of corruption, the population has lost confidence in different institutions @Austinelewex , many of us support through different methods the institutions and the people who fight against corruption, when we need to go out on the street to defend the democratic values. Over time we changed a lot for the better, we managed to bring a totalitarian regime and then put down from government many elected corrupt

My friend @To_paul I don’t really understand what you are trying to say. Do you mean that Romania changed its corrupt politicians through change of government (totalitarian regime)?

@To_paul

Thanks. Great post. I felt the atmosphere of celebration and parade.

I realized that your holiday in the country in honor of the memory of the heroes who were at war? Or specifically in honor of a certain event or a certain date of the beginning and end of the war. You can link to the story or tell a little more. Thanks.

The army and the church are not involved in politics. @Austinelewex
That is why they have credibility among the population and are not suspected of corruption.
People who go out to celebrate their national day will go out to defend democratic values when corrupt politicians come to power and try to escape justice.
Communism was a totalitarian regime, people had to go out in December 1989 to drop communism, there were 1,116 dead, there was a lot of corruption during communism but then in democracy it reached a worrying level, it was founded in 2002 a special anti-corruption department investigating major corruption, especially politicians, has arrested and convicted a prime minister and many others, ministers. police judges, prosecutors, within ten years Then the corrupt politicians came to power tried to dismantle and intimidate the department, even gave a law to cancel the corruption, honest and civic people went out and started protesting against corrupt politicians and after the protests that lasted many days a corrupt government fell, then over a year and people had to put down another government.
now you will surely understand.
thanks

National Day of Romania . December 1st
The mausoleum of the heroes from Galați
It is located in Galați, in the “Eternity” Cemetery. The cemetery is located on George Coșbuc Boulevard, no. 221. Here, in the common graves and in the tomb, are buried Romanian and foreign soldiers in the battles of the War for Independence, the First and the Second World War.
The remains of 2,625 Romanian, Russian, French heroes are deposited in the mausoleum.
On the marble plates are inscribed the names of the known heroes, from the former Covurlui county, fallen in the War for Independence, in the First and Second World War.

Thanks

Thank you @To_paul for the beautiful explanation. From my little study about Romania I discovered that the head of Government is the Prime Minister. It is very wonderful that the military and the church are not involved in politics in Romania. Here in Nigeria, politics has eaten deep into every institutions in the country.
